Grow Emotional Resilience Together with Togetherness
Parents and carers across North Yorkshire can access a range of free online parenting courses through Togetherness, designed to help families build stronger relationships, understand children’s behaviour, and support emotional wellbeing.
Created by clinical psychologists in partnership with health professionals and parents, Togetherness offers practical, evidence-based learning that can make a real difference to children and families. The courses help parents and carers to:
- Understand more about child behaviour and the big feelings children experience
- Find ideas for connecting, communicating and solving problems together
- Help children thrive through strong, connected relationships
- Build confidence in parenting approaches
Recent participation across North Yorkshire highlights the value families are finding in the programme, with 48 new learners registering in July alone. Popular courses include Understanding Your Teenager’s Brain, Understanding Your Child: Toddler to Teenager, Understanding Your Child’s Mental Health and Wellbeing, and Understanding Your Baby.
One North Yorkshire parent shared:
“This course was fab and really gets you to reflect on situations you have with your children, your own behaviours and actions and how they impact your children. I loved it.”
The Togetherness platform also includes the course Understanding Your Child in a Changing World, which explores some of the challenges facing children and young people today, including social media, AI and gaming, climate change, and global events.
Families in North Yorkshire can access the courses free of charge using the access code NYFAMILIES. The programme also now offers Understanding Your Child: From Toddler to Teenager via WhatsApp, making it even easier for busy parents and carers to engage with the learning at a time that suits them.
For safeguarding professionals, Togetherness can be a valuable resource to signpost to parents and carers who may benefit from additional support in understanding child development, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and positive family relationships.
