Welcome to the NYSCP July 2023 edition of our e-bulletin
Welcome to the July Edition of the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership’s (NYSCP) E-Bulletin. It is incredible that July is here already! We are already past the longest day and are officially in summer.
June was a busy month and between 19 and 23 June we had safeguarding week. We held a number of webinars across the week on subjects including the Dark Web, Multi-Agency Child Exploitation, Learning from Star and Arthur and Livestreaming and the Risks Presented to Children and Young People. These are now available on the NYSCP’s YouTube Channel at NYSCP – YouTube
We have another packed e-bulletin for you this month, from national learning to the latest guidance on Keeping Children Safe in Education and much more.
July marks a couple of important events:
- Between the 5th and 9th of July is National Co-Production Week, back for a sixth year to celebrate the benefits of co-production, share good practice and promote the contribution of people who use services and carers in developing better public services. You can find out more at the Social Care Institute for Excellence website.
- On the 14th of July is the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Honour Based Violence. To find out more about honour-based violence, visit our Tri.X procedures. You can also visit the Karma Nirvana website, a charity who specialise in aiding victims and survivors.
I hope you have a great summer, and we will see you in the August edition of our e-bulletin.

Defra, the Child Accident Prevention Trust, the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities and leading animal welfare organisations have put together a range of resources with practical #DogSafety tips that families can use in their everyday lives. Resources include:

Supporting practice in tackling child sexual abuse
Everyone working with children must have the knowledge, skills and confidence to identify and respond to sexual abuse in order to help children and their families. The CSA Centre have put together a film series which distils all the key information from their core research and resources into 12 short videos, so you can watch the series in short bursts or view them all in one go.
