The North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (NYSCP) are pleased to share with you the updated Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy template (Including North Yorkshire Local Safeguarding Procedures) for 2026/2027.

The updated policy has been aligned to the ‘for information only’ version of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026 and any related statutory guidance that has been released up to and including the 15^th July 2026.

The format of the document is split into three sections namely;

• Important School Safeguarding Information and Key Contacts
• School Child Protection Policy
• North Yorkshire Local Safeguarding Procedures

We advise that sections highlighted in green are reviewed and adapted in line with your individual setting’s context and procedures and policies.

Sections highlighted in yellow, indicate the key updates for KCSIE 2026 and are provided to support schools with prioritising safeguarding training in 2026-2027. These should be removed before the policy is ratified and/or published on your school website.
