New ‘Ready for Parenthood’ campaign launches across York and North Yorkshire 💛
Thinking about having a baby, currently pregnant, or navigating life with a newborn? You’re not alone.
York and North Yorkshire councils, York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Health Trainers and YorSexualHealth have come together to launch Ready for Parenthood – a new campaign designed to help women feel informed, supported and confident from pre‑conception through pregnancy and beyond.
The campaign focuses on three simple things that can make a big difference: What we put in our bodies – eating well, staying hydrated, stopping smoking and drinking alcohol
🚶♀️ How we move – building safe, enjoyable movement into everyday life
💬 How we feel – emotional wellbeing, healthy relationships, connection and support
The first short films are out now, featuring local midwives Claire, Lynda and Hayley from York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, sharing practical, friendly and non‑judgemental advice.
Over the coming weeks, you’ll also hear from York Health Trainers, Healthy You practitioners, YorSexualHealth clinicians and public health professionals – all signposting to free, local support.
