Launch of the NYSCP Annual Report 2025-2026
The Story of Our Partnership, Our Learning and Our Impact
The North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (NYSCP) is pleased to launch the Annual Report 2025-2026, alongside a suite of accessible guides and a short video walkthrough designed to help partners, practitioners, children, young people and families explore the report’s key messages and learning. The report focuses not simply on what the partnership has done, but on the difference that work is making for children and families across North Yorkshire.
At the heart of the report is a shared ambition:
Every child in North Yorkshire is happy, healthy, safe and able to achieve.
More Than a Summary of Activity
The annual report brings together learning from across the partnership, drawing on performance information, audits, safeguarding reviews, workforce development activity, practitioner feedback and the voices of children and families. It provides an honest and transparent account of progress, identifies areas for further improvement and highlights how agencies continue to work together to strengthen safeguarding arrangements.
Importantly, the report recognises that data tells only part of the story. Alongside performance information, it considers learning from practice, professional insight and lived experience to help build a fuller understanding of how safeguarding arrangements are working and where further change is needed.
Learning That Leads to Action
Throughout the year, the partnership has continued to focus on turning learning into practical improvement. This includes strengthening the way learning from safeguarding reviews is shared, developing accessible practitioner briefing materials, improving workforce development opportunities and creating practical tools to support day-to-day safeguarding practice.
The report also demonstrates the breadth of partnership activity, including work to hear and respond to the voices of children and families, address emerging risks, improve multi-agency practice and strengthen assurance arrangements across North Yorkshire.
Accessible Guides for Children, Families and Partners
We know that lengthy reports are not always the easiest way to engage with learning and accountability. Alongside the full report, we have therefore produced a range of accessible visual guides to help different audiences understand the key themes, achievements and priorities. These guides provide a more concise and engaging summary of the report and support wider participation in safeguarding conversations.
The guides are designed to make accountability more meaningful by ensuring the partnership’s work is communicated in a way that is easier to access and understand. They help bring learning closer to the people who matter most: children, young people, families, practitioners and communities.
