Creating Connection After Loss – 12 Week Art Therapy Course

Wellspring Therapy and Training is setting up a new 12-week art therapy group for mothers and babies who have experienced pregnancy, neonatal, or infant loss.

The loss of a child can deeply affect future pregnancies and early parenting. Creating Connection After Loss offers a safe, supportive space where mothers can gently process grief, strengthen emotional connection with their baby, and reduce feelings of isolation through shared experience and creative expression.

About the group

  • 12-week art therapy programme
  • For mothers with babies aged 0–18 months
  • Suitable for those with a history of pregnancy, neonatal, or infant loss
  • Group size limited to 8 mother–baby pairs
  • Participants should be cleared by a medical or mental health professional

Benefits include

  • Processing grief and trauma through gentle, creative expression
  • Strengthening bonding and emotional attunement with their baby
  • Reducing anxiety and isolation by connecting with other mothers
  • Supporting secure attachment and long-term emotional resilience

Practical details

  • Start date: Wednesday 25th February
  • Time: 11:00–12:30
  • Location: Training Room, Wellspring, Harrogate

Places are limited, so early referral is recommended.

If you work with or support mothers who may benefit from this group, Wellspring would be very grateful if you could share this opportunity or consider making a referral.
