It also signposts families to physical activity and leisure opportunities in their local area and provides information on other useful topics and support, such as mental health and wellbeing, sleep, and help with the cost of living.
The service is for children and young people aged 4-19 years (up to aged 25 years for those with SEND) who would like some help with healthy weight and lifestyles. Families must be a resident or registered with a GP practice or school in North Yorkshire.

The North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership are excited to share our new Being Young in North Yorkshire Strategy 2025-2028. This strategy forms the strong roots of all the work that takes place across the Partnership in order to ensure children are happy, healthy, safe and achieving.
You will see from the strategy that our four main priorities have stayed the same, we want children to be HAPPY in their homes and in their communities, we want them to live HEALTHY and long lives, we need them to be SAFE and to know safe people they can talk to and we have high expectations for all our children so they can ACHIEVE their goals.

Growing up in North Yorkshire:
Every two years since 2006, North Yorkshire Council has collaborated with schools across the region and their pupils to conduct surveys to gauge their opinions on various aspects of health, wellbeing, and learning/education. Based on the results of the biennial Growing up in North Yorkshire Survey, digital flyers have been produced highlighting the key results from the findings alongside support and information services available for families across North Yorkshire.
