Reuse Santa returns to help bring Christmas cheer to local families
Reuse Santa, run by Yorwaste, is back for its eighth year, helping pre-loved toys and games find a new home in time for Christmas.
With many families continuing to face cost-of-living pressures, your unwanted toys could make a real difference. Last year, more than 5,000 toys were donated and redistributed through charity partners to families in need.
You can donate clean, complete and working toys and games from 15 to 29 November at Household Waste Recycling Centres across North Yorkshire and the City of York.
When you arrive, simply let a member of site staff know you have items for the Reuse Santa appeal and they’ll direct you to the donation point.
To make sure every donation is suitable for regifting, please ensure items are:
- Clean
- Complete
- In working order
Please note that toys powered by mains electricity can’t be accepted.
As you make room for Santa’s latest deliveries this Christmas, please consider giving any good-quality toys and games you no longer need a new home.
Volunteer toy sorters needed
Reuse Santa is also looking for volunteers to help sort and prepare donated toys at its workshop in Northallerton.
A half or full day is ideal, but any time you can spare would be greatly appreciated. The toys will then be prepared for distribution to local families.
To volunteer, email: marketing@yorwaste.co.uk to arrange a suitable time.
