Domestic Homicide Review Published Following the Death of Jayne

The Safer North Yorkshire Partnership has published the Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) Overview Report and Executive Summary relating to Jayne, who tragically died in Malton in 2024. The review examines the circumstances surrounding her death and identifies important learning for agencies working to prevent domestic abuse and safeguard vulnerable people.

The review highlights opportunities to strengthen partnership working, improve recognition of domestic abuse and coercive control, enhance trauma-informed practice, and support earlier intervention for those at risk. It also sets out recommendations for agencies across North Yorkshire to help improve future responses and prevent similar tragedies.

Domestic Homicide Reviews are a key part of learning from serious incidents, ensuring that victims’ experiences are heard and that agencies continue to improve how they work together to protect adults and families.
