Important Update: PAPYRUS and HOPELINE24/7 No Longer Operating
We are saddened to share that PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide has ceased operating and, as a result, HOPELINE24/7 is no longer available. Reports confirm that the charity entered administration on 7 September 2026, bringing an end to nearly 30 years of work supporting young people, families, carers and professionals affected by suicidal thoughts and suicide prevention.
HOPELINE24/7 provided specialist support to young people experiencing thoughts of suicide, as well as guidance for parents, carers and professionals concerned about a child or young person. Its closure means that organisations, services and websites should review any existing references to HOPELINE24/7 and update signposting information accordingly.

Please Help Us Update Local Resources
Many websites, posters, leaflets and resource packs may still direct people to HOPELINE24/7. We encourage all organisations, schools, settings and professionals to review their materials and update any references to ensure children, young people and families can access services that remain available.
The loss of a dedicated suicide prevention service for young people will be felt across the sector. However, it is vital that anyone needing support knows they are not alone and that help remains available through a range of national and local services.
