Children & Young People

Welcome to the children and young people’s page of the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership website. Our role as a partnership is to ensure all agencies are working together to help to keep children and young people happy, healthy, safe and achieving in North Yorkshire.

We hope this page will provide some useful information and guides about ways to keep you and your friends safe, and where you can turn to if you are feeling worried, scared or unsafe.

If you feel there is any information missing on this page, or if you have any questions about the work of the partnership you can contact the partnership via email: nyscp@northyorks.gov.uk

What is Child Abuse?

Nobody has the right to hurt you or your friends or make them do anything that feels wrong.

Telling an adult you trust about what is going on is the first step to getting the problem to stop. You don’t have to cope alone.

Abuse can mean a lot of different things. It can include neglectphysical abuseemotional abuse and sexual abuse. Abuse could happen at home, at school, at a club, online or on the street. You have the right to be safe in every place and adults have a responsibility to make sure you are kept safe.

Do you need some help?

If you are worried about something that is happening to you or a friend or young person you know, there are people you can talk to. Its important to remember that you are not alone in this and there is always someone who can help you. Click on the button below to find out what help is available.
