North Yorkshire Child Exploitation Summit 2025

North Yorkshire Child Exploitation Summit 2025

18th June 2025, Harrogate Convention Centre

Outline

Following the successful Multi Agency Child Exploitation development events held across North Yorkshire in 2023 and 2024, North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership and North Yorkshire Community Safety Partnership are proud to announce the first North Yorkshire Child Exploitation Summit.

Description

Focusing on all forms of child exploitation as detailed in the Multi Agency Child Exploitation (MACE) and Contextual Safeguarding Strategy, this FREE summit will be an opportunity for partners from across North Yorkshire to come together to look at how we can work together to tackle exploitation and serious youth violence. The day will focus on exploring local and national trends of child exploitation and serious youth violence, examining partnerships working together to disrupt the abuse that is happening to children and the role we all must play in this in the places and spaces young people are spending their time (including the online world).

There is an expectation that attendees will have a basic understanding of Child Exploitation and the Multi-Agency Child Exploitation processes in North Yorkshire, which can be accessed by reading the following practice guidance NYSCP. Further information and resources about child exploitation can also be accessed via the NYSCP BeAware knowledge Hub NYSCP

Attendees will also be able to watch a short video titled “Introduction to Child Exploitation in North Yorkshire” before attending the summit. This will be available on the NYSCP site and YouTube channel prior to the summit.

Audience:

We welcome frontline professionals and managers to attend from across all agencies who work in North Yorkshire with young people (ages 8 & above) & their families.

Agenda and Speakers

Details of the agenda will be released nearer to the summit date.

Outcomes

With various enlightening and empowering keynote speakers and workshops throughout the day, the summit will be an incredible occasion to come together as North Yorkshire Partners to tackle exploitation and serious youth violence.
