School Designated Safeguarding Lead Conference 2024

Following the success of our Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Conference 2023, we are delighted to announce our revamped conference for 2024. DSLs from all schools in North Yorkshire are welcome to attend and join in this highly anticipated event.

We have listened to your invaluable feedback and have carefully redesigned the agenda to better serve your needs and interests. This year’s conference will feature an inspiring keynote speaker who will address the pressing topic of the dangers of Artificial Intelligence to children and young people.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in three dynamic workshops delivered by subject experts from our multi-agency partners. These workshops will cover a range of critical and timely subjects, including:

• Poverty within the School Setting,
• Risks of Vaping to children and young people,
• Youth Gambling Awareness (YGAM),
• An Introductory Guide to Incel Subculture,
• Hate Crime and Reporting Mechanisms,
• Restorative Solutions,
• NYSCP Update including the development of the Harmful Sexual Behaviour and Early Help Strategy Consultations, and
• Trauma Informed Practice.

Moreover, we are excited to present a multi-agency marketplace. This vibrant space will host representatives from various agencies and organisations such as:

• FEAST,
• North Yorkshire Youth,
• Inspire Youth,
• Early Years,
• School Improvement Service,
• Local Authority Designated Officers,
• YorSexual Health

This is a unique opportunity for colleagues to connect, collaborate, and gain insights from a broad spectrum of professionals dedicated to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
