Understanding the dark web

Understanding the dark web

With more children accessing the dark web, it’s important that professionals have an understanding of risks and how to have discussions with children who are known to be using the dark web. CEOP have collaborated with the Marie Collins Foundation and The Children’s Society to put together useful resources for professionals in understanding the dark web. The resource is a short video which explains what the dark web is and some practical tips for exploring this as a safeguarding issue. It is meant for professionals only and reiterates the advice that professionals should not have conversations with children and young people who are not aware of the dark web. You can access the resources from:

https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/professionals/resources/dark-web-explained/

This page is for professionals only.

Parents and carers can be directed to the specific parents and carers page to access the specific fact sheet and film tailored for care givers.
