Children And Families Worker MAST (075522)

Salary: £29,269 – £32,076 per annum

We are looking to recruit effective, resilient and highly motivated individuals to join our Multi Agency Screening Team in North Yorkshire.

MAST was created in Oct 2014, consisting of Social Workers, Social Work managers, Early Help, Business Support, North Yorkshire Police and Safeguarding Health professionals. MAST have predominantly worked remotely since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and continue to hybrid work whilst maintaining an excellent quality service and performance. It is expected that the applicant will be able to work from County Hall when required including at least once per week.  

The Children and Families Worker role is vital within MAST, tasks including screening of contacts, decision making, attending and presenting information at Group Screening meetings and working closely with multiagency partners. Our practice model is designed to work on keeping children safe and families together, with the right intervention at the right time in the right place.  

The successful applicant will have experience of working within Early Help, understanding of the Signs of Safety model and systemic practice and thrive in a fast paced office environment.

Local Authority Designated Officer (ED0137)

Grade: N

Salary: From £48,474 up to  £52,504 per annum

Vacancy Hours: Full time/ 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent

Location: North Yorkshire, Hybrid Working   

This is a great opportunity to join the service as a new Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) we are looking for a passionate, highly motivated qualified social worker to join the team. You will be the individual involved in the management and oversight of allegations against people who work with children. 

The LADO team sits within the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership and is a busy service which strives to develop and respond to the needs of the community. The LADO have oversight of individual cases, provide advice and guidance to employers, and voluntary organisations in managing allegations, liaise with the police and other agencies and monitors individual cases to make sure they are dealt with as quickly as possible in thorough, fair and proportionate manner. We work in line with our North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership procedures on Managing Allegations against those work or volunteer with Children, Working Together 2023 and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023

We require you to have social work qualification and experience of complex risk assessment and threshold application. Dynamic communication skills are essential in order to advise and guide partners effectively through potentially difficult circumstances including complex professional and ethical issues involving safeguarding children and managing allegations against staff. They will have knowledge of child safeguarding guidance, policies, procedures and best practice and experience of managing allegations or complaints against members of staff is preferable. A strong record of partnership working, confidence in chairing multi-agency meetings and effectively recording actions and decisions made will be required. 

We very much promote flexible working with the ability to work remotely from a variety of bases as well as from home, whatever makes sense and is suitable to provide the best service. Whilst many of the meetings will be virtual, there will be a requirement to travel on occasions
